I attended Florida State University and graduated in 1992 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Child Development as well as a Bachelor of Science degree in Elementary Education.  Ten years later, to the day, I graduated from Florida State University having earned a Masters of Science degree in Educational Leadership and Administration.

I am a 24 year veteran teacher.  This is my fourth year in the Hampton 1 School District and I am very excited to be here!  I bring 21 years of experience from the Dade and Monroe County School Districts in Florida where I taught and was an administrator at both the school and district level.  I taught for 12 years in various grade levels including 2 years as a Pre-K teacher, 3 years in combined grade level classrooms of both 4th and 5th grades and 3rd and 4th grades.  The remainder of my teaching years were spent as a fifth grade teacher.  I also served as a Curriculum Resource Teacher and Reading  Coach, supporting the teachers and students in my school buildings with various curriculum needs as creating and implementing interventions for students needing a bit more assistance.  I was also the Assistant Principal of three school sites and assisted in the transition of one of the sites from a public school to a public charter school.  Before moving to Ehrhardt and teaching at Hampton Elementary, I was the Assistant Coordinator of Early Childhood Education for the Monroe County School District servicing the Pre-K programming throughout the county within the Head Start and Voluntary Pre-K programs that were district run.  I am excited to be part of the Hampton Elementary School Hornet family!

I have been married to my husband, Ryan, for 20 years.  We have one son, Ryan James who is in the Third grade at Ben Hazel Primary School.  We live on a small farm in Ehrhardt, SC and enjoy fishing and hunting together as a family.  We have 15 chickens, a pygmy goat, Peaches, an Allendale County Shelter dog, Sadie and two kitties that just happened to wander up to our home; Captain America and Coon.  We recently moved to Ehrhardt from Key West, Florida where my husband was a Charter Fishing Captain.  We both grew up hunting and fishing together.  We hunted in the Ehrhardt area for almost 30 years and decided to move here permanently.  We are very excited to be part of the local community and look forward to raising Ryan in the Hampton 1 School District schools.
